FULL. We are thrilled to offer a new program and welcome a fantastic new teacher to Ruby Yoga. Jaime Haines is a certified personal trainer, national Pilates teacher, certified yoga teacher, prenatal exercise specialist, aerial yoga instructor, pelvic floor specialist, and creator of core/ re-store.
Starting in March, she’ll offer her 12-week core/ re-store program on Wednesday evenings at the studio.
“One of the most formative moments of my career and life came in 2010 when after many months of debilitating pain, I was diagnosed with degenerative spine disease and underwent cervical spine surgery,” Jaime said. “After a year of intense rehab, my neurosurgeon urged me to continue doing Pilates consistently for its benefits in spinal alignment, core strength, and muscular balance. Spine surgery and a partial hysterectomy under my belt (pun, ha) a few years later meant that I developed programs that I used myself. Specializing in pelvic floor and deep core restoration, metabolic weight management, and chronic pain management are not a hobby, they are my lifestyle.”
Whether you are currently bound by pain and wish to restore movement in your life, an active adult looking to prevent future issues or ceasing exacerbating tendencies like urine leakage during workouts, you will learn to implement new strategies that consider the efficiency of the core and pelvic floor. The program is ideal for individuals with diastasis recti, pelvic floor dysfunction or pelvic floor prolapse, among other conditions. The progressive program incorporates quality movement patterns in a way that will teach restorative lifting strategies resulting in mastering movements that will assist in healing rather than irritating any pelvic, lumbar or core conditions. You will also learn fluid breathing patterns, postural self-assessment, and lifestyle hacks for maintaining a strong core and pelvic floor.
The program is $360 for 12 weeks of instruction. Instruction dates are Wednesday evenings, March 22, 29, April 19, 26, May 3, 17, 24, June 7, 14, 21, and July 5 and 12. Classes are at 6:30 pm. at Ruby Yoga in Front Royal. This program qualifies as Yoga Alliance continuing education for yoga instructors.
